Now this is the kind of week that makes a fellow feel glad that he's alive! It was all food, glorious food, and I had the marvelous opportunity to taste samplings from some of Louisville's great restaurants.
I'll delve into each restaurant in detail in separate pieces, but suffice it to say that my belt is a little tighter and my smile a bit wider because of these dining experiences.
We started the week with a really nice lunch at Amici's , the Italian restaurant on Ormsby in Old Louisville. We ate outside on the veranda and the atmosphere was outstanding. Monday evening, we visited chef Michael Cunha at Limestone , on Hurstbourne Parkway. What a great guy - and, like me, a fisherman!
Lunch Tuesday was at the Uptown Cafe where we got to visit with Kelly Ledford and her wonderful colleagues and Starr Stewart, concierge at the Galt House , was my guest for dinner that night with proprietors Nancy Richards and Len Stevens at L&N Wine Bar and Bistro .
Wednesday evening, Lou Donaldson, Sande and I had dinner at the wonderful Indian restaurant on Bardstown Road, Kashmir. If you like interesting food, put this restaurant on your to do list!
What a great week this one was. I'm a little fatter and a lot happier (I needed a week like this to balance my mood after watching the Wildcats lose last night!)
