NORTH END CAFE is the perfect lunch retreat!

posted Monday, 30 July 2007
This past Thursday I met a friend around lunchtime at North End Cafe. The charming, renovated shotgun house sits in the historic Frankfort Avenue area. We could not have had better weather to enjoy the patio garden seating, where it is not uncommon to see a kitten napping in a corner. I ordered the Chicken Club sandwich, which was enormous, almost too much to eat alone. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and extremely tender piled with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, aioli and Dijon on wheat bread. Typically, I tend to be very health conscious when choosing what to eat, but I had no problem finding many items on the menu that made my mouth water. My friend decided on the Chicken Enchilada served with Spanish rice and black beans. It was funny that we could smell the Enchilada’s aroma even before it arrived. When the server did present our entrees, I was in awe at how picture perfect the Chicken Enchilada looked. I know my friend loved it because I never heard a peep out of him, even when he was finishing off my sandwich! On the way out, I was lucky to meet the owner of North End Cafe, Christopher, who is just as laid back as the atmosphere. Thank you Christopher for a wonderful lunch retreat! The service and food was excellent. Everything about North End Cafe was classy and modern, yet casual and comfortable!
