Caviar makes it great!

posted Wednesday, 25 July 2007

My colleague Jessica Hebert and I had lunch at Caviar Japanese Restaurant on Muhammad Ali Boulevard today and we're delighted to report that our meal was extraordinary! Jessica ordered the Shrimp Tempura. Both the shrimp and accompanying vegetables were gently fried and decorated to make an excellent impression and beneath the slightly sweetened crust, the meats and vegetables were plump and juicy - perfectly prepared! I tried the Teriyaki Beef and it, too, was presented oh so artfully - just the appearance made my mouth water! And it tasted as good as it looked. Even though Caviar is billed as a Sushi restaurant (and it is to a degree) and their sushi bar is unlike anything I've ever seen, their entree menu includes  steak, seafood and chicken - all fully cooked for those of us that don't care for sushi!  Caviar is a class restaurant, but not snobby, and if you try it once, you'll be back!
